I've also noticed this with seppe, any time I try to give any feedback only for the sake of having the kernel improved, it gets ignored while other junk does not Not really, it's not because I don't always reply on every comment that I ignore it. If more than 50% of the users says that feature X ...

Does this version of Nitro have the staircase scheduler? Unless I'm blind I can't seem to find it.

Also, I tried it out and everything seems to work fine but responsiveness in X is very slow compared to previous Nitro patchsets. That is why I am wondering which CPU scheduler is in use.

Yes, the ...

Not yet, sorry. I'm pretty busy these days for my work. But there is a very little chance that I make a 2.6.13.2-nitro2 in my oh so precious weekend. But next week I certainly don't have the time for it. I'll see what I can do this weekend, but I don't promise anything.

Also, Does this have the bootsplash patch? If so, where is it? If not, how/where could i get that applied? I'm new to getting the bootsplash setup, so those may seem like stupid questions. Thanks.
Nope, but we have gensplash (aka fbsplash). See [url=http://dev.gentoo.org/~spock/projects/gensplash ...

What does this fix for us? The logo errors? The software suspend 2 errors? Something else?
It fixes the troubles on AMD64 platforms

Couple of comments/complaints:

1) New menuconfig colors - ewwww! How can I change them back?
2) What happened to that very handy, helpful, obvious Nitro Menu from 2.6.12-nitro5?
3) Standard Layer7 patches against it don't work once again :(

Nope, it's going to be 2.6.13.2-nitro1. It's a different Linux kernel base(2.6.13.2 instead of 2.6.13.1), so I reset the "nitro" version numbering.
I just thought it was odd, since Con Kolivas (or anyone else) doesn't reset his patches numbering with every sub-version release.
The current ck5 ...

the ebuild has a wrong naming, but it is the right one.
I also noticed that. I renamed nitro-sources-2.6.13.1-r1.ebuild to nitro-sources-2.6.13.2-r1.ebuild and it seemed to be getting the new one. Is this correct or is there anything else I have to do?

2.6.13.2-nitro1 is on it's way. I'll probably upload it in a few hours. New stuff: updated CK, updated software suspend 2, configurable hid mouse polling patch and the famous nitro logo.
That would be 2.6.13-nitro2, isn't it? Why keep the name nitro1?

Yeah, what's wrong with this release and AMD64? Are there any problems with it? Will nitro2 fix it?

edit the ebuild and add ~amd64 to KEYWORDS, so it reads like this:

KEYWORDS="~x86 ~amd64"

I can't update the ebuild now myself, I'm at work where FTP is blocked

It's out, see in this thread . Please note that it's still under testing status. Reiser4 is still untested and so it's always possible that 2.6.13.1-nitro1 will totally b0rk up your Reiser4 partition. Watch the thread for updates .. when the "STATUS: TESTING" leaves in the threadtitle, then it ...
