a .bin is sometimes an ISO, is that maybe the solution?

I'm also a gentoo/arch user, and I think I've realized part of the problem. Arch sort of uses gentoo as its role model. Pacman is a slightly different version of portage (this being the main "feature" of the distro).

my tar was pretty screwed up, so i did an emerge -C tar, forgetting that it d/ls .tars to install the packages, so on a emerge tar now, i get an error that it cant find tar to unzip the package...

whats the best way to get tar reinstalled now?

I'm not sure what the problem is, i modified the sections in Default.ini to the current resolution X is running in...

not to rain on your parade, but yeah you can do it in windows, I think alcohol120 supports command line burning (either that or cloneCD i believe)

but that is pretty pimp, so is that DVD script - is that bash programming or wha?

So if you use the USE 'demo' or 'nocd' its just the demo? I have the CDs laying around somewhere, I didn't feel like digging them up...

How do I install/run the game? I found the script dealy in /usr/games/bin, but if I type 'freecnc' at the terminal it tells me command not found.

for example ill do:

tar -xj file1.tar.bz2

or tar -_ _ _ file1.tar.bz2

any combonation of the letters and i get nothing, the cursor sits on a blank line under the last cmmd entered. simple as that

I cannot get tar to work with any files at all. No matter what options I pass it, it just sits there until i kill it. Is there an error log or anything for it? Any ideas? Thanks...

The very first package it tries to update (sys-apps/kbd-1.08-r5) emerge fails and I get:
