After removing i686-pc-mingw32-4.7.2 and cross dev I have no more problems. I'm just confused now why would having mingw installed cause emerges to fail? I thought that you had to explicitly call mingw to use it as a compiler.

I thought I had this solved. Found out I had the wrong gcc profile selected. It started compiling and failed a lot longer in the compilation.

Portage 2.1.11.31 (default/linux/amd64/13.0/desktop, gcc-4.6.3, glibc-2.15-r3, 3.5.7-gentoo x86_64 ...

Errors compiling Thunderbird/Firefox[Solved]

I'm trying to upgrade my thunderbird/firefox and I've been getting this error I can't resolve. I tried to pastebin the entire log, but for some reason wgetpaste is just stalling now.
This is the tail of it

I have the same network card on a G560. I had a hard time getting the wireless to work as well. I followed the instructions here http://linuxwireless.org/en/users/Drivers/brcm80211#Broadcom_brcmsmac.28PCIe.29_and_brcmfmac.28SDIO.29_drivers under the "Get the code" section about what to select in the ...

So even though doing nomodeset and the system stops hanging, but the keyboard is unresponsive it still sounds like a hardware problem D: ?
I can load a livecd without having any problems with graphics or fb

Is there any specific tools or commands that I should run? I see that a lot of people are saying the update of udev broke their system could this be related or does this sound more of a hardware issue?

It doesn't display a kernel panic. I updated it last weekend and I've rebooted at least once a day since then.
It hangs at different moments after runlevel 3

Hello,
Here's the scenario. I was using my computer not doing anything except for editing a document (nothing technical). I turned off my laptop turned it on later and now it freezes everytime it gets to INIT: Entering runlevel:3. I've tried loading from other kernels, but I'm getting the same ...

Mounting Problem

Hello,
I have a nook, and it will only mount (by calibre) if it is plugged in while I start up. If it's not I get this error

I updated world, but I did --depclean and revdep-rebuild afterwards.
My kernel was updated

Fix:
General Setup->
[*]Enable deprecated sysfs features to support old userspace tools

Should have tried this a long time ago, but since Calibre was saying my kernel was deprecated it was throwing me off.
