10.1 fixed my problems that I was having. I hoped there was a graphical install to go along with this. I love Gentoo, used it for 4 straight years but switched to ubuntu just because I didn't have the time to fix things when I did something stupid. Now I don't use Gentoo simply because I don't have ...

This might be kind of silly, but instead of downloading an entirely new DVD couldn't a merge folder be put online? Just mount the old .iso, drag the files in that change, and then burn it. I'm not sure if this is possible or not or how this would work, I've never seen a distro do this, but are there ...

[ARM® Cortex™]: Anyone play with the beagleboard yet?
I was wondering if anyone has gotten Gentoo on the beagleboard up and running.
I'm not sure how easy they are to get a hold of, but the Open Pandora project uses the beagleboard with a gpu capable of opengl. Here are the specs for those not wanting to click on the link:

Is handbrake not in portage?
Hey, I can't find handbrake in portage. I need to basically run some video through it, an mp4, so my GP2X can view it, basically an avi. I did and emerge -s for handbrake and got nothing. I even went through /usr/portage and it wasn't there. Is there a reason it's not in there?

FCE Ultra: save states
Is there a guide somewhere that explains how FCEUltra works? It doesn't have a man page. It says it supports save states and game genie but I can't find anywhere that says how.
Thanx,
Stan

Can't use mkdosfs
I'm trying to put a fat 32 partition on a SD card but get this error:
-su: mkdosfs: command not found
Is this because I have to be logged in as root just not 'sued in' or do I need to emerge something to be able to make dos partitions? I have Gentoo installed just trying to make a bootable SD card ...

Why do you think new hardware made a difference? Do you think it's because your new hardware was USB 2.0? That sucks that it doesn't work perfectly on Linux anymore. Although I couldn't find any real reviews on the SmartJoy PLUS the comments on a few stores were promising. Oh well, time will tell, I ...

Hmm, I ended up getting the SmartJoy PLUS . In comments on lik-sang.com and a few other places Linux users said that it worked perfectly, so I decided to get 2 of them. I wanted to get one that had 2 controller ports but it looks like they don't work under Linux or OSX, and it wouldn't be too much ...

ps/ps2 to usb adapter with linux/osx drivers
I was wondering if anyone has tried one of those ps/ps2 controller to usb converters. I don't like buying controllers for my computer because they aren't that well made in my experience, but I love the ps/ps2 controllers. I want to find an adapter that has 2 control ports that will work in Linux and ...

Ok, I got the book Hacking Video Game Consoles by Benjamin Heckendorn , the book that shows you how to turn old NES's and PSone's into portables, and thought "why not make a case like he does (CNC cutting machine) to house a gumstick/expansions, LCD, and whatever means of d-pad and make a handheld ...

I voted 'Iris on Mirror', the other's looked too corporate. I liked them all though, I really liked the infinity symbol on 'Aaron Shi'. I don't know, I'm kinda getting sick of purple, I have ADD though and switch everything in my life around over and over again, so I need to take that into account ...

Nice, yeah, a desktop replacement notebook is ok if you have a nice desktop, if not a notebook can never replace a desktop, even though some call it a desktop replacement . I am needing a desktop now more than anything, I have a little ibook that will allow me to type/do internet stuff on the go ...
