Check the output of

Code: Select all

emerge -pv x11-base/xorg-drivers
Is the intel flag active in the VIDEO_CARDS thingy?

Re: Re2

As for re-installing the kernel, no, I have kept the same kernel source. All I did after I changed the /usr/src/linux file was make it, and I thought that's all I had to do, correct me if I'm wrong. As for modules, I don't have any, period. No modules. I thought the kernel was supposed to take care ...

Hi,

it's hard to say from distance, but imho you could try this:

Code: Select all

USE="-python" emerge --oneshot sys-apps/file
and then go ahead and do whatever you want to do

Maybe it helps,

Yes, i have the same problem with warsow and the mouse seems to show a behaviour as if some sort of gravitiy is pulling it down and to the right side in the menus..

My current workaround is to mask >=x11-drivers/xf86-input-evdev-2.2. With version 2.1 i have no problems ...

had the same problem...the thing is you have probably (at least i had) something like sys-apps/portage in your unmask file.
replace that with <sys-apps/portage-2.2_rc21 :)

I am not sure but you could try to add that command to /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc or create your own file in /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc.d/

Maybe it helps,

Is there a way to change this?
My guess is, that you are looking for the kdeprefix use-flag.

hi there,

first try to make sure that your locale is indeed not installed by using
locale -a
It should give you all locales on your system. Then read man locale.gen and check /etc/locale.gen and /etc/locale.build (that's the one for glibc).

If that doesn't help, i'm running out of ideas fast 8 ...

Hi,

are you sure that you are using portage-2.2? It got masked a while ago, because portage-herd want us to test portage-2.1.6 [also known as public beta testing ;] and i might add that it doesn't support sets like @system.

Hi,

i took a look at the ebuild and there is def. cairo[X] written in it...my guess is that it means cairo with X use flag compiled in. The ebuild uses EAPI=2 and i would suggest unmasking portage-2.2...maybe its one of those features that got removed from 2.1.6-something.

Maybe it helps,

i checked my old, but still saved, kernelconfig's. The CONFIG_I2C_ALGOBIT seems to be dropped beginning with 2.6.26, because i can def. find it in the 2.6.25 configs. Seems to me like an outdated package....downgrading if needed and/or a bit of swearing

concerning your approach you can try something like this:

Code: Select all

Does the trick for me,

PS: You must have a nice computer, because the last time i did a emerge @installed it took me nearly 3 days
