With XP I had no problems doing this....actually, for some reason my installs weren't going smoothly until I tried this method, for some strange reason....but yeah, I installed Gentoo, then Windows XP, then booted into Gentoo using the liveCD and installed GRUB to my MBR again; worked like a charm.

WineX error, SoF2MP and no sound :(

I've unemerged and emerged winex plenty of times, but it still gives me the same error:

"wine: lstat /root/.winex/wineserver-Drk/socket : No such file or directory"

wtf is this? Drk is my hostname, as set in /etc/hostname
the directory exists, but the socket file does not.

Ive been using Gentoo ...
