Just got stylus working, but now touch stopped working.
I had to unplug mouse for that.
seems that only one device can work at a time and the one which starts working seems to be the first one initialized.

this is quite strange.

I swapped usb ports for mouse and wacom and now:

touch started to work
stylus still doesn't
mouse stopped to work

I still see input/output errors in the xorg log for "Wacom Intuos5 touch M Pen", but not for "Wacom Intuos5 touch M Finger"

[SOLVED] wacom intuos5 touch problem

Hi,

I've just got wacom Intuos5 touch M tablet and can't get it working.
It looks like there is some driver issue with it.

It seem to be recognized by kernel

$ lsusb|grep Wacom
Bus 001 Device 004: ID 056a:0027 Wacom Co., Ltd Intuos5 touch M

$ cat /proc/bus/input/devices

Even if it is a bug it probably caught nobody's attention because everybody removed 2.6 after upgrade to 2.7.
I understand that, but that may mean that there is some bug in portage regarding slot deps.
So I'm trying to understand whether it is a bug (and if it is I'll report it to bugzilla) or ...

python 2.6 and python 2.7 share different slots, but use the same python2 wrapper.

you must :
eselect python set --python2 python2.7
eselect python set --python3 python3versionyoulike
eselect python set pythonversionyoulike (this time it define the default python version to use when someone just ...

emerge bug with slots?

Background:
I had 3 python versions installed 2.6,2.7,3.1, the eselected one was 2.7
Both 2.6 and 2.7 had some newer versions in portage (didn't update system for several months).

checkpoint vpn client and dhcp client problem

I'm trying to setup vpn connection to checkpoint vpn.

I managed to get snx checkpoint vpn working but I have an issue with dns.

when client starts it changes /etc/resolv.conf adding dns servers.
after that dhcp client overwrites /etc/resolv.conf back.

What is the correct way to solve this?

Re: DVD burning issue

Hmmm,

are you dual-booting? Or is that windows box really a different box?

If it's a different box where you can burn and read, and your gentoo box can't read that media then swapping the drives could give a clue. Otherwise - would you be willing to try with nautilus-cd-burner instead of ...

Hi R.I.P.,

Commercial DVD players are trained to be very "forgiving" - they often can play damaged or overburnt DVDs where normal computers fail. Depending on your actual needs your computers behaviour can be either bug or feature :)

Could it be that your movie is a bit oversized for that DVD? If ...

DVD burning issue

From some moment dvds I burn stopped mounting after they burnt.
I'm using gnomebaker 0.6.4 which as far as I understand uses cdrkit.

The burnt dvd cannot be mounted, in /var/log/messages there are messages like "attempt to access beyond end of device"
It also doesn't open on windows box, though it ...

Hi,

I'm using locale en_US.UTF-8 and I want to watch a video with russian subtitles in cp1251 encoding
Hence I'm starting "mplayer -subcp cp1251 somevideo.avi" and it doesn't work - I see underscores instead of letters.
The strange situation is that in locale ru_RU.UTF-8 same command works fine.

I ...

And it wasn't growing at the time I've discovered it.
If it was still writing to the file at the time I've found the file, I would ...

I seem to accidentaly turn on some raw audiostream dumping.

try to use different vo than you are already using.
xv works fine for me (except that rarely mplayer starts to crash after some event. it is hard to say what triggers these crashes, restarting beryl solves the issue).

list windows in gnu screen from a script

I would like to get list of the windows in gnu screen's session from the script outside of the screen.
"screen -X windowlist" command displays window list inside the screen, but it couldn't be dumped later with hardcopy screen command.
is there any way to do what I want?

the partition is ok. I've just deleted some files.

i've tried sleuth toolkit but it was able to recover successfuly only 2 of 5 files i've lost.
the other 3 files recovered but seems to be broken.
