I have had similar issues, I think it is related by the "systemd" useflag that replaces consolekit with systemd.
You have to tell pam to use pam_systemd.so, I have tried adding "session optional pam-systemd.so" in /etc/pam.d/system-auth. It mostly works for polkit which disabled the power button in ...

Re: With systemd, KDE doesn't think NetworkManager is runnin

I'm not sure which package provides the KDE network widget.
These days it is kde-misc/networkmanagement rather than KNetworkManager:

With systemd, KDE doesn't think NetworkManager is running

I'm using systemd and the NetworkManager service is running (verified with systemctl). I have internet connectivity. However, I see a red X in the system tray and it says "Network Manager is not running. Please start it". As such, I can't configure the networks from KDE, which is my preference.

I ...

Systemd + Plymouth: plymouth goes away too early

Note, this is entirely an aesthetic issue. The system boots just fine and plymouth does show up for a while. It just doesn't wait until the X server has started and KDM has a screen up. So I see the tty1 login screen for a second or two. Does anybody know what controls when plymouth shuts itself ...

Maybe it's time to install KDE4. I was also a die-hard KDE 3.5 fan and waited for a very long time to upgrade to 4. Now that I'm on 4, I don't see why I ever liked 3.5 so much. Pretty much anything you can do in 3.5 you can do in 4. All of my old favorite themes like QtCurve are still around. It's ...

Unified diff output is broken up into a series of sections called hunks. Each hunk has a header that looks like (example taken from your file):

Can't disable semantic-desktop use flag

And that's the least of my problems, apparently. I've put -semantic-desktop in /etc/make.conf, but when I emerge kdelibs, it still shows it as being set. The only way I can get it to disable the use flag is to do

USE=-semantic-desktop emerge -pv kdelibs

which is obviously not satisfactory. When ...

Just to take care of the simple possibilities -- did you:
1) Re-emerge virtualbox-modules after upgrading your kernel?
2) Make sure to update your /usr/src/linux symlink to point to the correct kernel source tree (e.g., /usr/src/linux-2.6.37-gentoo) and then repeat step 1?
