|
|
I'm looking for a way to centralize and delegate the management of webhosting on the Linux platform.
Are there any projects out there which are working twords this goal?
I've used similar solutions on hosting re-seller accounts, and was hoping that a free open source attempt has been made to mimick the features provided. If so is there a Gentoo ebuild of it too?
Some of the features I am looking for are:
Hostname/DNS Setup
allow them to create website/virtual directories and settings, only applying to thier site.
Add FTP accounts
Control Shell access and Home directoies
email server/account administration. |

| Well that sounds like the typical machine, but what I am looking for is an administration tool similar to webmin but that is designed to let users configure thier own hosting options. |

Has anyone successfully integrated VHCS on gentoo as of yet I am going to give it a go and I am sure a whole bunch of people would appreciate a how-to for this I won't commit to doing a how-to alone but if anyone would like to assist or lead we should really do this

I've been trying to do this but I've had quite a few problems and I've had to patch it a lot, I'm also writing an ebuild but I don't know if it can be of use to anyone else because I'm currently targeting the ebuild for my server only... I'm hoping that VHCS 2.4 will be easier to write an ebuild for because in my current ebuild I'm ignoring the Makefiles which are just too "hardcoded" for me. |
