Most gcc threads seem to be related to version 3. Anyone know of potential problems with upgrading 2.95.3-r5 to 2.95.3-r7?

From the changelog, there may be some problems with libvorbis, but that may refer to an old libvorbis ebuild. If you aren't having any of the problems in bugs 3987, 4004, 3527, I would stick with the version you have. Why do you want to upgrade it?

EDIT: removed wrong reference to ncurses.h bug, which was a gcc 3.1 problem. also, be careful that when upgrading gcc, binutils may need to be upgraded as well, and it can sometimes be challenging finding good pairings.

 I didn't even think of changelog or bugs. No reason to upgrade other than emerge -u world wants to upgrade it. I figured if it would help, why not. I think I'll just investigate portage on how to force it to not upgrade.
