From the Prelink Doc:

Quote:
Portage automatically generates the file /etc/prelink.conf that tells prelink which files to prelink.

I emerged prelink, my portage is up-to-date, but there is no /etc/prelink.conf

How can I create or get one?

from what i've read it is created about an hour afterwards, it scans your hdd in the background what is possible to prelink and then it creates the file.

it used to be:

in your "/etc/make.conf" add prelink to the FEATURES part
do
Code:
 env-update
source /etc/profile

now your prelink.conf should be there... but this is based on experiences of 2 months ago so it may have changed...

Hey, that were fast replies 8)

Thanks for the answers. I'm going to wait an hour or so (I think I can hear my HD working right now  ), and then -- in case the file isn't there-- try aardvark's suggestion.

This seems to be the case, still. This ought to be documented.
