Hello all,
Has anyone got this new soundcard and got it working with ALSA? I don't have one but I'm reading some reviews and getting a severe case of technology-envy. I spotted one report of someone suggesting that it works with the usual alsa code in the development kernel but nothing to back it up. The ALSA mailing lists are pretty hopeless so... anyone?

Might be a bit late now, but I got it working perfectly. It uses the emu10k1 drivers (same's the Live) and runs fine. _________________ "-and those damned stupid barbarians with their

I was thinking of getting an Audigy2 ZS Platinum, but will the front i/o interface thing work as intended, or just the card itself? |

Mine is working well with the emu10k1-cvs drivers (including 5.1 sound )
I tried ALSA but it didn't work so I'll stay with the OSS drivers _________________ ASUS Z87-PLUS, i7-4770, 2x8GB DDR3-1600, 700W OCZ Power Supply, EVGA GTX760 4GB, 3TB HDD, Gentoo ~amd64 (3.10.10, dm-crypt full disk, awesome) |

I just bought a Audigy2 ZS and was wondering what the difference is between
emu10k1 drivers
&
audigy drivers
Is one better than the other? Should I just use emu10k1 w/ alsa or the audigy driver?
thx
EDIT: From the sound matrix at alsa, looks like I should use the "audigy" anyone using it?

There is only 1 driver (emu10k1) that controls both the Live! and Audigy lines of card. The table in the alsa-project website simply tells you which chipset the cards use. |

Thx,
I just noticed that my fedora install on it uses the "audigy" mod? Maybe that is because it uses oss instead of alsa. I will give the emu a shot. |

Hey all,
I am using the Audigy2 zs card with alsa version 1.0 and the emu10k drivers. The sound is GREAT and the 5.1 worked with absolutely no effort. I will confess, I am running a 2.4.23 kernel but my version of alsa is the same version as the 2.6 kernel.
hope this helps,
