I have some great GTK themes.. BUT, whenever i switch to them, my xchat input bar doesn't obey to the rules given. I have said in my xchat preferences, that "Use the text box font and colors". But my input box's font turns light-grey all of a sudden. Can this be fixed by editing gtkrc in any way?

btw, I'm using XFCE4 and install my GTK themes with gnome-theme-manager(is not important imho but i still mentioned it) |

Is it this way because of the GTK theme or because of XChat?
Very strange and annoying.. Nobody knows a solution to this really? |

I had this problem also (most notably using roberTO's Milk theme from gooeylinux), and it is a problem with the way the theme skins the widgets. IIRC, all of roberTO's themes have this problem. As far as I know, there's no way to fix it other than mucking around in the theme's configuration file. _________________ Your lucky number is: 6549871346761673167461.

From my experience I just had to restart after disabling that option in the preferences. After that, the input boxes should be themed by GTK. |

Disabling that option made the text readable
The inputbox is now bg:white text:black while the textbox is bg:black text:white, so it's not really solving the problem but it'll do
Thanks!

Settings > Preferences > Input Box > untick "Use the Text box font and colors" and restart XChat. |
