how to use logitech cordless desktop MX multimedia keys?

hi,

i bought myself a lobigtech cordless desktop MX bluetooth keyboard and everything works like a charm so far. the only thing that still bugs me is that i'd love to use all those extra keys the board supplies.
i figured that this can be adjusted using xkb, but so far i am hopelessly lost in doing this.
can someone help me please?

currently i use XkbModel "ltcd" in /etc/X11/XF86Config
but about half of those extra keys are not recognized...

thanks in advance

hi,
try lineakd, it´s in portage. With it you can map all your keys to whatever program you like.
In case you don´t get it compiled (like me), for xmms there´s a plugin called s/t with "itouch", so you can use the multimedia-keys.

or, you can use xev to find out the key cod enumbers for the multimedia keys, and map them with xmodmap.

hi, i allready tried to use xev but i noticed, that not every key throws an event. for example hitting the "webcam" button on my keyboard seems to not do anything ... but well, guess these keys function (as i expect them to do something on windows (which i do not have, though ;)

right now, i'll have a look at lineak, thanks for that tip.
what if that doesn't work as expected?

none of the profiles you get in lineak seem to work with my keyboard.
on the other hand, it lineak crashes about every 3. special-key-click :(

right now i configured my XF86Config to use "logicdit" as XkbModel
this way 9 out of 31 keys are "named" in X and can be used for example with khotkeys to define shortcuts.

using xev i could figure out all keycodes except for 14 keys, which seem not to throw any events on click (using gentoo-dev-sources-2.6.5).

i'd greatly appreciate any help :)
