|
|
Hello,
I have just installed my kde-3.2.3 (i don't want to install now 3.3.0), and everything works fine.
I merged k3b-0.11.12-r1 (with emerge k3b, and after errors, emerge -uDv k3b), but i always get the same error when i try to start it:
"could not find mime type application/octect-stream"
"no mime types installed"
I've read a lot about this problem, but anyone says how to solve it (i'm nearly sure that if i change to kde-3.3.0 i could solve it, but i've installed this same packet in other computers and it worked fine wwith kde-3.2.3) (althoug i know some people who gets this error with kde3.3.0)
Anyone who solved this??
Thanks |

Same error message here...
I've had kde-3.3.0 installed for a while now, but I've been running kde-3.2.3. I logged in using kde-3.3.0 just the other day for the first time and my k3b is broken now!
weird huh...
i'm not liking kde-3.3.0 so far...there's this problem plus my sound stops working half way through the kde opening sound effect.I think most problems are due to incomplete ebuilds. I'm going to see what happens if I just go back to 3.2.3 _________________ "As you think, so you are." |

I solved the problem "masking" kdelibs-3.3.0 and kdebase-3.3.0. I found that if you install one of them (i don't know which) and you keep using kde-3.2.3, then k3b won't work.
This is for preventing the error but if you've already installed them, i don't know if you will be able to work k3b fine again...
Good luck! |

I have the same error. I gave up and just use grip now for ripping. It seems to work fine. |

I had the same problem because in /etc/rc.conf there was old entry for XSESSION (Kde-3.2.2 instead of Kde-3.3.0). Now I have XSESSION="Kde-3.3.0" and it works. |

the solution was momentary... Only able to run k3b as root... In rc.conf i've commented the Xsession line... |
