|
|
A while ago, I installed pulseaudio, since it is needed for the new Skype version.
Up to today, everything worked fine, I could make Skype audio calls and play audio using mplayer etc. via ALSA.
Today, audio playback suddenly stopped working, if I am not root.
My user is still in the "audio" group and I did not perform any upgrade of pulseaudio or kernel since yesterday.
The only solution I have found so far is to uninstall pulseaudio. Then, the audio playback starts working again.
However, that prevents me from using Skype. Does anybody know what I could do to get both pulseaudio and ALSA working at the same time?

Remove yourself and any users from the audio group, make sure consolekit service is started, then logoff and log back in. |

Thanks, removing /usr/share/alsa/alsa.conf.d/51-pulseaudio-probe.conf as detailed in the guide did the trick! |
