Hi all, I've created the file .asoundrc in my home directory with this content to pre-amp sound (http://pastebin.com/pkM8jjAy) but in alsamixer I don't see the new control... amixer: http://pastebin.com/e2YFFD99 I also tried /etc/init.d/alsasound restart... How can I solve? |

Hi aleskandro!
Do you check the kernel? Is possible that it need a module in "device driver -> multimedia"
In the future you can try Jack on Alsa |

What driver could I need ? The audio works fine but the volume with the laptop speakers is too low.

I have already used jack for recording purposes, but it seems a bit expensive to simply add pre-amp. |

I solved adding as module the generic loopback driver (snd-aloop) to my kernel (Device drivers -> Sound card support -> Advanced Linux Sound Architecture -> Generic Sound devices -> Generic Loopback driver (PCM)).
