Can anyone recommend a decent PoE IP camera that works well on linux in a browser?
I was sold a TrendNet TV-IP310PI and told it would work under linux, but it has some sort of active X control to view the live footage and offers no solution when using chromium under linux.
I've been looking at Y-Cam YCBLHD8 which states it works under linux but uses quicktime plugin. It doesn't look like i'll be able to get quicktime going properly under chromium now they have changed their plugin/extensions system. Just about to investigate trying quicktime under firefox.
All I really need is a decent outdoor camera, that works via PoE, works under a linux browser, and stores to a NAS drive using NFS/ CIFS or even FTP. Also it needs to have motion detection.
Any help would be appreciated! |

I used LevelOne PoE IP cameras for a setup. They are great with MJPEG support, just hooked them up to a Linux box with a raid array running Zoneminder.

Thanks for the reply. Do they have a web interface to access them? Also do you know if they can be connected to using an android app? |

Yes they have a web interface. I cant say about android. I only accessed them from Zoneminder on Linux which reads/records the MJPEG streams. _________________ CFLAGS="-OmgWTFR1CE --fun-lol-loops --march=asmx86go" |
