I've updated my system(around 160 packages) and as soon as I rebooted I found most of my xfce & thunar icons missing

here are my use flags:
[ebuild R ] xfce-base/thunar-1.6.3 USE="dbus libnotify startup-notification udisks -debug -exif -pcre {-test}" XFCE_PLUGINS="trash" 0 kB

haven't changed them during the update, I might have changed some other packages, I don't remember which ones though

thanks

Hi,
I faced same problem. Don't know which update caused this. Whichever package provides /usr/share/icons/gnome/scalable/places/ does not provide folder.svg anymore. You can install alternative icon theme and select it in the xfce icons settings.

hmm I would prefer the gnome icons but if there is no other solution, what are the most similar icon theme packages?

If you like green you might like the Mint icon package. It's not in portage but you can just download it and untar the tarball at ~/.icons or /usr/share/icons (for global), then set it using lxappearance or the xfce control center.

EDITED: it seems there are unofficial ebuilds for this, I haven't tested them though:

this theme is fine for the time being, it looks nice but I'm a person of habit, so I'll keep working on getting those icons back
