pcmanfm permission issue over sftp

Running x11-misc/pcmanfm-1.1.2 on a system with lxde. If I go to an sftp mount of the type sftp://root@192.168.1.19/media
the context menu does not show options to rename/copy etc the files. I am opening the sftp as root so it shouldn' t be a permissions issue. Anyway I found this bug report which might be related http://sourceforge.net/p/pcmanfm/bugs/702/ but that version is older than the one I'm running. Is this a known issue?
