I am looking for a tool for burning DOK, Live CD.
When I used opensuse there was tool named Studio -
Is there a similar tool in gentoo?
I think that this tool including also some features for music editing etc.

DONAHUE Hi,

I am working with KDE and find in your link this chapter: Optical disk burners -
Is one of them suitable for DOK, as well? (I mean not optical media)
Actually I am looking for a simple tool similar to Studio - It is simple to use -
but if there is no such in gentoo - something like K3B is ok - if it can burn DOK.

Thanks

DOK=Disk On Key=USB Flash Drive (like SanDisk products)
I assume that burning optical media is different than Flash Drive.

if you want to install gentoo from a usb key
best way: system rescue cd http://www.sysresccd.org/Sysresccd-manual-en_How_to_install_SystemRescueCd_on_an_USB-stick (works from linux or windows) sysresccd is gentoo based and has better support than the gentoo minimal install cd
harder way: gentoo minimal installcd https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/LiveUSB/HOWTO (works from linux)
unetbootin converts any livecd to liveusb

You're right, optical media are weird and that makes the man exception.
In other cases, including your Flash/USB you can burn image onto device using 'dd if=<source> of=<destination>' with optional 'bs=32M' to speed up process using device's buffers.

Yeah, many liveCD are created in hybrid format that acts as both, iso** and fat, which means they will work with either optical or "regular" media when applied as a raw image. Subject you chose is misguiding though, as "LiveCD" defaults to "optical media", while you seem to be interested in bootable flash drive
