|
|
I'm not too sure what a Libc is, but I want to d/l and install something for my gaming server. There are 2 seperate downloads...
1)Libc5 (for slackware, mandrake, etc.)
2)Libc6 (for redhat)
Thanks

libc6 most definately
I don't think anything really uses the old 5 any longer, barring slackware.
Of course I might be wrong about that, but gentoo uses libc6. |

libc6.
You can also get libc5 in gentoo if you emerge lib-compat. |

I guess the Windows equiv would be the Microsoft Foundation Classes? (MFC)
It contains just about every function needed by standard programs in libraries. |

The windows equivalent is more like msvcrt.dll. MFC is a "layer" over and above the C runtime (among other things). |
