Hi all, I have a very serious problem with my interenal microphone and camera, which for unknown reasons are simply not found by Sabayon. Sound works ok when playing audio/video, but skype just won't detect my mic and camera. I experimented a great deal with pavucontrols but nothing worked.
The worst is that since the only OS I have ever run on this laptop is Sabayon Linux, and I never used skype in the 7 months I have this laptop, I have no idea whether there is some hardware malfunction or the problem is in a driver/setting. Please, help me figure this out, because I'm totally lost.
Below you can find the output of some commands.
I am with Asus N550J, with kernel version linux-3.15.0-sabayon and nvidia-drivers-340.24#3.15.0-sabayon.
Code: | $ sudo lspci | grep -i nvidia
01:00.0 3D controller: NVIDIA Corporation GK107M [GeForce GT 750M] (rev ff) |
Code: | $ sudo lspci | grep -i VGA
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 4th Gen Core Processor Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 06) |
To check if the camera works without skype, I installed cheese. However, when I was using org-X11 opengl, I got as message "No camera found", and when I set it to Nvidia opengl (whith sudo eselect opengl set 2 ) I got the following message:
Code: | cheese
Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0".
(cheese:13774): GModule-CRITICAL **: g_module_close: assertion 'module->ref_count > 0' failed
(cheese:13774): Clutter-CRITICAL **: Unable to initialize Clutter: Failed to connected to any renderer due to constraints
** (cheese:13774): ERROR **: cheese-application.vala:85: Unable to initialize libcheese-gtk |
Additionally, I can recognise the internal camera in kinfo, as for lspci:
Code: | sudo lspci

And finally, when opengl is set to nvidia, here's what I get from glxinfo:
