|
for some time I ran my desktop as root and had all my cool settings tweaked the way I liked them.
I finally bit the bullet and forced myself to start to run as a regular user, but as I started to recreate my settings I realized to rebuild my Desktop Effect I was going to have to so some back and forth between root and regular user to verify and redo some of the many tweaks I did a long time ago. Then I got the thought that there may be a file or a few files that contain all these settings in my old root profile.
Does anyone have a clue as to which files and what settings I need to copy over? In a perfect world, I could just copy over my config file and have the settings but I am sure its not that easy, but I thought I would ask. Even if I knew what files to look for maybe I can avoid the back and forth logins to manually look. _________________ Drinking from the fountain of knowldege.

Hi njcwotx!!
The kde information is in /root/.kde4 and /home/<user>/.kde4 how a hidden directory. You can try reemplace some subdirectories and files config, eg: wallpaper. |
