I'm running 1.3a with all the latest updates. Imagemagick 5.4.7. When I:

mogrify -geometry 480x360 *.jpg

I end up with a directory full of the original jpg files and the mogrified files (*.mgk). For example:

filea.jpg
filea.mgk
fileb.jpg
fileb.mgk
filec.jpg
filec.mgk
etc, etc...

According to all the FM, this operation should overwrite the original files with the mogrified files (my desired behavior). Its always worked for me under RedHat and Libranet. Is there something in Gentoo that may be causing this behavior? Any other ideas?

I have the same problem. I call mogrify from my scripts and they stopped working because of this, according to the mogrify man pages, very odd behaviour.

Someone got any input?
