An anonymous cracker managed to reverse engineer large parts of Germany's Federal Department for Media Harmful to Young Persons' Secret List Of The Big Bad Internet, otherwise known as the telemedia parts of indices C and D. In light of this, federal agents are threatening journalists linking to a description of the crack - which contains large portions of the list - with charges of distribution of child pornography if they don't take it down.

Which journalists? The ones who work for the propaganda? Like the dicks of the public broadcasting system, those thieves and liars?

No, they didn't even cover it in the first place. The folks over at Heise and Netzpolitik.org. Presumably also Spiegel and Golem since they took the link down as well.

Maybe Germany should take Google down as well. Why not the entire Internet.
Secret censorship. I am wondering where that is mentioned in Germany's constitution, if there is such a thing.
What's next? Terrorism?

Germany technically doesn't have a constitution. But they do have this 'basic law' thing that does mention that there is no censorship in the state. Unfortunately, they kinda redefined the word censorship and added exceptions to protect children and suppress Nazi propaganda - rather ironic, considering they are using their methods to do so.

Yeah, kinda glad I'm not living there anymore.

btw, as the text says, you have to opt in to use the filter. If you don't opt in, nothing is filtered. At least with fritz.

But - I am puzzled. Why isn't facebook on that list? Instagram? bund.de?

edit and a false claim:
Quote:

Additionally, the major search engines like Google, Bing or Yahoo agreed to filter their results in Germany based on the list. They can download the (cleartext) list from a server of the FSM (Freiwillige Selbstkontrolle Multimedia-Diensteanbieter e. V.). In comparison to the opt-in approach by the router manufacturers the search engines filter all results served to German users, it is not possible to opt-out.

well, they might filter some stuff, but googling abbywinters for example shows abbywinters as first hit. So google does not filter all the stuff on 'that list'. They filter some... but since they don't filter all - they must have a different list.

Wow. At least in the US, once charged, it's always on your record (as having been charged, which isn't the same as a conviction, but is almost certain to cause all kinds of problems). I'd rather be disappeared.

Right. Federal agents. It's a group of lazy censors who have been caught producing an unconstitutional censor list which is only about 3000 links long, entirely random, and hopefully outdated. These censors proclaim to be the state, which is bogus and unconstitutional as well as their other attempts to censor our lives. They do everything to end a democratic discussion, which is also unconstitutional. But the bottom line is that they are only interested in power and the funding of their secret censor projects. That is what is so wrong about this list.

Besides, your US American police state is not normal. Although, those mentioned journalists are doing their part to americanazise the world. Disgusting.

4chan didn't make it, either. Although there are some unrecovered records, they might be in there ;)

I had read about the opt-in thing on fritz boxen, but there were some comments over at netzpolitik.org that some routers shipped with the option enabled by default. Might be an ISP-specific thing if you use their setup without reconfiguring it properly.

Not entirely sure how that part works, but if a complaint is taken seriously enough by the DA then it would be enough to raid their home and work place, confiscate all electronic they'd own and probably put a hold on their bank account. + they'd have to explain it to their neighbours. Disappearing does sound more appealing.

must be an isp thing. It is turned off with 1&1 fritzbox and those you can buy in shops.

And yeah, basic rights says that censorship does not happen - but the next sentence is

(2) Diese Rechte finden ihre Schranken in den Vorschriften der allgemeinen Gesetze, den gesetzlichen Bestimmungen zum Schutze der Jugend und in dem Recht der persönlichen Ehre.

as always, if you want to suppress something pull the 'we must protect the children' card.

btw, why isn't the catholic church on that list? Biggest children rapist and children murderer club there is.

The teeny-arse fucking priests ain't that bad. Those people who copy movies via the Internet are the dangerous ones. They got to be controlled by the censors.

there's one article on bible.org on there, but not the whole thing. it is kind of mind-bending since they claim they're doing it to protect the kids and not a single instance of the bible is on that list, what with the whole incest, revenge, genocide, homicide, rampages and gruesome torture death and rebirth of more than one of the main characters.

The list is bogus and just a pretext to introduce the infrastructure for future censorship. That is why they want to keep it secret. Also the idea to fight Nazis with Nazi-methods is plain wrong.

That is at least not the Spanish approach to the problems that were suppose to be addressed. Neither is the suppression of all public discussion about what is being censored. Who knows what comes next.

+ it'd make a lot of sense to keep bookmarks, what with that stuff getting filtered out of Google Search results :D.

The same people who produced this list are the ones who suppress all democratic discussion about it and ignore the consensus which had been reached in the past. They just install a system of Internet/web censorship, while they force people in Germany, and the entire EU, to pay up for a "public" broadcasting system which never participates in any democratic process of any significance. The people are being fed every day with nonsense, lies, and entertainment bullshit; in Germany alone on a scale of almost 10 billion Euros per year. At the same time, these protectors of the children accept that they have more than 30% of the children in their capital and other cities living below the poverty limit, with no chance of any improvement. They also adapted the public school system to the lowest standard of the Western world, for instance by replacing classes like biology, chemistry, and physics with one mumbo jumbo class of "natural sciences". There is nothing good coming out of this for those children of parents who cannot afford to send their children to a private school. And to top the whole crime, those protectors of the children have commercialised the private school system after the worst and most unjust system in the Western world. The only thing that matters to these people is their own power and income from a system that is being controlled by their beloved Führer of the Free World.
