|

Lately I'm getting mail from cron with multiple output on the following form: Code: | bzcat: I/O or other error, bailing out. Possible reason follows.
bzcat: Broken pipe
Input file = /usr/share/man/man6/./twang.6.bz2, output file = (stdout) |
I suspected /etc/cron.daily/makewhatis but when executed manually I don't get these errors. Does anyone have any idea what is causing this?
edit: I found this old thread in the archive where someone else had similar problems. The files do exist and can be manually decompressed and no errors occur if makewhatis is run manually. Once the errors have been reported by cron it seems that errors for those particular files are not reported again. The next time cron reports these errors it's for some other files. _________________ man cannot be brave without being afraid |

I'm having the same problem, and it appears only after I've run an update.
Odd.
Maybe worth a bug report? _________________ Gentoo user since 2004.
