Emerge'd Wine and WineX last night and copied over Half-Life from my ntfs partition to. Got Half-Life to launch and was even able to start a map on Counter-Strike. My problem is not being able to go completely full screen without X changing into a 1600x1200 virtual screen, using 1024x768 are the psuedo resolution. I've never really played with Wine/WineX before, so I am new, but I am not new to native Linux games (tuxracer, Quake3).
If anyone can help, I'd appreciate it. Also, how are the Half-Life framerates? I'm running an AthlonXP with a Ti500, I am hoping the emulation will leave games playable (60+fps constant).
Last, but not least, who thinks Valve would make a decent amount of cash if they sold and supported a Half-Life client for Linux?

They wouldn't !
Nobody would buy the game just because it has a linux port if it's already running with wine...
But anyway, with CS 1.6 and the introduction of Steam I hope they'll do a Linux version of Steam... |

With a linux port of the client and a nominal fee for the client, Valve would sell a few thousand copies, no doubt. I know that Wine/WineX works with Half-Life, but getting it setup and fulling at full, Win32 speed is not currently working. Getting a full speed client is worth the cash, ihmo. But I'm not paying another $30 or $40 for it.
