It would be great if gentoo offered xz compressed stages. I'm often behind mobile connection and need stage3's for various purposes. Portage snapshots are already in xz and i wonder why stage3's are in bz2? _________________ https://github.com/defer-

Yes, it is very much desired and intended to do so. I have some code modifying catalyst to make it universal in the types of compression/decompression it can do.
I however had some health issues and major surgery which has slowed me down considerable in getting catalyst caught up with my re-write changes and the new compression/decompression code. So, it will take a while yet before it is offered. _________________ Brian
