Portage Issues

Sorry all but a total newb here in Gentoo. Using Sabayon XFCE at the moment until I get a better feel for the system. Trying to install the application Filezilla and keep getting the following error.. Here is the info

So I do some looking and see I probably need to install tinyxml so I emerge it and get this returned..

What am I doing wrong and missing here? This is so new to me and I am blind in all of this but want to learn how to correct and fix it.

As Krinn says your output doesn't actually include the error.

I'm posting here since I actually did the same thing. I used Sabayon to try and used use Gentoo without actually installing Gentoo. However, be aware that doing this will cause Sabayon to be unstable since portage doesn't play too well with equo. My system lasted for about a month before programs just randomly stopped working.

If you want to learn Gentoo may I suggest that a less risky path is to install virtual box and learn on a VM? Ultimately the Sabayon is different enough from Gentoo so that the two are not actually the same thing at all. I know you didn't ask for this advice, but I'll offer it anyway.

Are you getting that error message from the Sabayon Linux binary package manager (Entropy), or from the Gentoo Linux source package manager (Portage)? If you're trying to use Portage in Sabayon Linux, why don't you just use the Sabayon Linux package manager?
