Who will win? I voted Germany

Lloyds gave a list of how much the costs would be to insure:

If Germany actually wins this World Cup, I'm gonna laugh and laugh and laugh.
Personally, I see this World Cup more as an experiment: How far can a team get, without fielding a striker; because Löw forgot to bring one. Oops.

IMO there is no clear favorite - so Brazil is gonna win.

Yeah, what is with bringing Mueller, an attacking midfielder, as your only striker? At least bring a youngster like Timo Werner to give your future some experience. England took Wayne rooney to the Euros at 17 and he scored loads of goals

I'd love to see anyone but Brazil win. Would be nice for England to win so they can shut up about 1966. England or Holland I would like to see win actually. But really anyone but Brazil.

So you don't think the US will make it out of the first round?

It's ok, I don't either. My (uneducated) vote is for the home team.

Well Germany isn't exactly loaded with strikers at the moment. Mario Gomez is injured and Löw doesn't like Kießling because he doesn't fit into "the system" - and that's the end of our proven-and-at-least-solid-strikers list.
As far as I know Timo Werner wasn't even considered. Löw did try Kevin Volland, but apparently he wasn't convinced and decided that what Germany really needed was another centre back.
So here's us again, desperatly hoping that Miroslav Klose ages like good wine…

Mario Gómez García to be exact. His father is from Spain.

Have a look at Werner, he plays for Stuttgart: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aDgkOeoNAPw

Brazil looked pretty weak in their game against Croatia. Croatia might well have beat them, had a butterfly (or a referee) flapped its wings differently here or there.

Well, Croatia still didn't score, so 2:1 in good taste would be fine. But that penalty ... lol. It sort of killed the spirit though.

Last Week Tonight with John Oliver (HBO): FIFA and the World Cup
http://youtu.be/DlJEt2KU33I

I personally don't care about sport at all. It surprises me how many people are passioned and dedicate time on something which is completely meaningless and does not improve anything in the world to the better.

Don't bother picking the best referees who referee top class games week-in week-out  They should have had someone from Britain, Germany, Spain or Italy in the first game because that penalty decision was atrocious

Yes. It is surprising how those billions of people are wrong and silly, while you are wise and enlightened. Or maybe there is great value to it which you simply cannot see.
