So, It was booting 2 days back, and now when the kernel starts all I see is this
Loading Linux 3.14.4-gentoo ....
:S I reinstalled the kerel to disable DRM after installing the nvidia drivers and about 600 other packages in the same day.
I don't kow what to do to ind out what's wrong, or I probably did something wrong during the kernel install phase
Edit: Previous kernels won't boot either |

If there is disk activity continuing after the screen freezes it is most likely a graphics support configuration problem.
boot a livecd or liveusb and mount the gentoo partitions, run: Code: | wgetpaste /mnt/gentoo/usr/src/linux/.config
wgetpaste /mnt/gentoo/etc/portage/make.conf
lspci -k | wgetpaste | post the url's returned _________________ Defund the FCC. |

To be honest, I think I fixed it a few hours before you post.
I deleted all kernels in /boot
cleaned out the kernel sources (I don't recall how, I think I deleted the kernels under the sources and then re-emerged them?)
recompiled and reinstalled the binaries
then reinstalled nvidia.
and finally updated Grub.
:/ There might be something I missed, since this was a few days back and then I spent the rest of that time trying to set things up. EIther way, problem solved!
Edit: btw, thanks for trying to help |
