sorry to do this but i am having problem with the ati drivers I am using the 3.7 one and can not get it working 100% or even 25%.
here is my setup
Sapphire ATI9700PRO
Asus P4S8X-X(sis 648 chipset)
ati driver 3.7
2.6.1-mm kernel
if i start X with the line useinternalagp=yes in my config file all starts up with no 3d support. now if I load the sis-agp module change the line useinternalagp to no and restart x 3d workes. which is ok but next time i reboot load sis-agp then start x the system crashes.
anyone know whats going on!!!!!! |

The sis648 agpgart driver in the kernel currently has a timing problem.
See https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?p=815853#815853
for a patch which has made it 100% reliable for me.
(to be used with "UseInternalAGPGART" set to "no" and the modules agpgart and sis-agpgart either compiled in or loaded in the kernel) |
