vlc 4.0.3 WTF???!!!

OK, so I thought it was about time I updated my all-time-favorite DVD/VCD player (VLC) and emerged vlc 4.0.3... Funny thing is:
WHO ON EARTH DISABLED THE VCD AND DVD PLUGINS FROM THE DEFAULT?????
and the question is:
how do I enable them back?

Problem solved with a SLEDGEHUMMER!
If you look inside the .ebuild you will see it uses some use variables. For the aforementioned plugins it requires the "dvd" USE flag... hmmm, never seen that, must be new.
I grep my /etc/make.profile/use.defaults and there is no such thing, i just add it on my /etc/make.conf and reemerge... no luck: it doesnot enable the use flag and ofcourse it doesnot compile the plugins.
I reedit the ebuild changing the "--disable-..." flags for the configure to "--enable-.." for the relative USE flag after the OR operator (II):
I am one happy man with one happy, working vlc.
Anyway, what is this dvd use flag, and how come I don't have it? (updated world 2 weeks ago if I recall correct)

I recall having seen it listed in some docs at www.gentoo.org. After that (when freshly installing my first gentoo system) I directly added it to the /etc/make.conf
USE="... dvd ..."

With this, all possible players have dvd support.
FYI, I think it must have been about 2 weeks ago that I read hose docs, don't know about any changes...
