i just noticed that equery is not working correctly on my machine:

i tried both gentoolkit-0.2.4-rc4 and rc5.

Using rc5, I just ran the same command and have no problems with the coreutils-pkg. Running it over all installed pkgs gives the same problem on some pkgs.

This is probably a one-off situation that only one person's suffering. Likely some improper handling of the installed program database occurred.
I guess to help bring closure, you could try reinstalling from source to at least update the file with new/correct dates...
Did you do an "emergency" coreutils installed at some point?
