Hi All:
Ok, bluez has updated to verion 5.xx+ which means blueman no longer works. My wireless bluetooth headset using pulseaudio with ALSA broke about 3 months ago so the resent upgrade to pulseaudio 5 offers some hope.
But with blueman dependant on bluez 4, than means its out.
I needs another bluetooth applet.....
went here:
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/bluetooth
doanloaded and built this:
https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/gnome-bluetooth-applet-git/
You need to have gnome-bluetooth installed first.
Placed /usr/localbluetooth-applet in my xfce4 startup so no I have the bluetooth icon again.
if you try and add devices, it will call /usr/lib/bluetooth-wizard which is installed from gnome-bluetooth.
If you go to bluetooth settings, it will try and run gnome-control-center....which you won't have and that is fine.
So, this is where I am so far until blueman 2 is out. Charging up the logitech headphone and will let you know how that goes.
Cheers,
john |

This was an issue for a while but I think our voice was heard and bluez-4 was put back. I was able to install bluez-4.101-r8 with blueman-1.23-r2 once more, and it works well with xfce. Better than I thought it did before as I no longer need networkmanager to use DUN.
Now I'm not sure how much longer it will stay... _________________ Intel Core i7 2700K/Radeon R7 250/24GB DDR3/256GB SSD
