I've got Gentoo up and running, , kde, etc.
One thing I'm not sure of, when I'm logged in as a normal user, I can't do "su -" to login as root. I'm sure this is just some configuration thing, I've poked around in /etc, but can't find anything.
How can I enable local users su'ing to root? How is this whole thing controlled?
On a related topic, how can I control which users can telnet into my machine, and which can't?
Pointers to how to find out such things would be greatly appreciated, I'd rather try to understand how all this works rather than just turn something on.
Cheers,
