|
|
Hi All,
I'd like to buy a new laptop just for Gentoo and would like some recommendations. I'm a Mac person so my first preference would be that (Air), but am not adverse to getting a PC/Linux/Other compatible alternatives. Do not want to run a VM as I want direct access to the hardware.
Any modern variants work without too much fiddling?
Sorry if this is in the wrong section.
Kind Regards,
John |

I would go with at least one i5 Haswell processor and 8GB RAM. If you can afford, 16GB RAM and SSD disk.
(I just program and surfe the web, no video needs) _________________ Emerging en gentoo |

Apple hardware is fairly expensive for the quality you get. Unless you need something only available from Apple, you will probably get a better value elsewhere. |
