Hi would need some hints how to proceed, I'm avoiding to rebuild kernel right now so first hint would be if I'm on the right track 
Gentoo machine is running headless, using ssh to access it
* I'm thinking that my ssh client need some kind of support (using putty/windows)
* I don't need to build kernel support for directfb, vesa whatever as that would be for the local machine not the ssh client?
* I need to build the ebuilds with correct support, this is global flags so the other packages is allready pulled in

Firstly running links as user gives me access error to hardware so i'm running as su until I know how to proceed. Which gives me error at the bottom.

| What are you actually trying to do here? You've disabled X11 and you're using DirectFB, so obviously you want a local graphical console browser with no network transparency. Where does the SSH client come into this? |

I want to be able to use my SSH client / graphical browser
It's a headless server hence I don't want to add anything it doesn't need. Also i'm thinking that anything added to kernel is for "local graphical browser" not "remote ssh graphical browser". Not sure how it should work |

Even from CLI?
Setting it globally pulls in a of a lot of packages that I probably don't need or want as "at this point" will not run any desktop, i will try to set it as package USE flag
Global: X Add support for X11
For the www-client or local use flags links or X is not described
I'm thinking that X11 will build me a desktop enviroment which I don't want. Or I am misinterpreting what X11 is
Will try it as a per package flag and se what happens |

I will try svgalib instead
