|

I got my Intel NUC D34010WYK in yesterday, updated the BIOS, and installed Gentoo on it.
On the first try it even booted properly.
But then I run into something weird.
It can't bring up eth0 because it can't fine it. Ok, fine.
Probably a different name, so I check dmesg for what it is.
dmesg shows the Intel NIC as eth0.
But, just after that it renames "eth0" to "emo1".
Ok, so I rename /etc/init.d/net.eth0 to /et/init.d/net.emo1.
Still no luck. emo1 not found.
The Intel NIC is a E1000 model, so nothing too special there I believe.
lspci shows it as "Ethernet Controller: Intel Corporation Ethernet Connection I218-V (rev 04)".
Feels like I am overlooking something here. Anyone got an idea on this?

I guess 1.30am last night was to late to read from my television correctly.
It should have been eno1 and not emo1.
Although the odd thing is that during boot it managed to acquire an IP address just fine...
Anyway, renamed and rebooted and it's working.
Problem solved. |
