Just did an:

Code:
emerge --update --deep @world

And got:

Code:
ERROR: sys-devel/llvm-3.3-r3::gentoo failed (compile phase):

Which appears to be the same problem as

https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-p-7453420.html

But I don't seem to have dev-python/configparser emerged at all.

In /var/tmp/portage/sys-devel/llvm-3.3-r3/temp/build.log I observe:

Code:
/var/tmp/portage/sys-devel/llvm-3.3-r3/work/llvm-3.3.src/tools/llvm-readobj/Error.cpp: In member function ‘virtual std::ring {anonymous}::_readobj_error_category::message(int) const’:

mentation fault
Please submit a full bug report,
with preprocessed source if appropriate.
See <https://bugs.gentoo.org/> for instructions.

/var/tmp/portage/sys-devel/llvm-3.3-r3/work/llvm-3.3.src/Makefile.rules:1615: recipe for target '/var/tmp/portage/sys-devel/llvm-3.3-r3/work/llvm-3.3.src-abi_x86_64.amd64/tools/llvm-readobj/Release/Error.o' failed

So this might be a different problem?

Is this reproducible? What version of gcc are you using?
Please post your CXXFLAGS and the full compiler invocation that leads to the ICE.

I could try to switch to gcc 4.8.3 if that would be of any help?

Yes. Please do. 4.7 isn't supported by upstream anymore.
