I have a Sandisk USB key that was manufactured as a fixed drive instead of a removable drive and it's causing some problems. Can I flip the /sys/block/sdc/removable bit from 0 to 1?

Code:
-r--r--r-- 1 root root 4096 Feb 25 09:14 removable

Not sure if you can easily do this, you'd have to hack the kernel to do something like that...
