Jack Nicholson, John Cleese, Anthony Hopkins?

They would be good but I was thinking more Derek Jacobi or Ian McKellen but they might be a bit old

I think Alan Cumming would be a good candidate. Also I think that Chloë Grace Moretz will be an amazing candidate, in a few years.

Jodie Foster would be good. The first gay captain.

Second gay captain. You forgot the effeminate Picard.

I'd prefer Stoya, Sasha Grey, Belladonna or Faye Reagan.

non-porn captains would include:
Merkel (thus we wouldn't have to endure here any more): don't do anything until someone else solves the problem for you. Then claiming you did it.

Glöööckler: the first fabulous captain

the guy who played Pirk in Starwreck: beat your enemies using your own stupidity!

or:

Clint Eastwood. Old school Clint. Charles Bronson would be great too, he is just a bit too dead.

Be fine, you'd just need a younger XO - Justin Bieber for instance.

I think Berlusconi could really bring some good old soap opera drama to the role.

Klingon Commander : Your torpedoes miss us. Why did you fire human?

Berlusconi : Eh. I was just a joking? You know? You know? Like a warning a shot or thing. We can be freinds. You gotta great tan.

Klingon Commander : You are bluffing. I have your first officer. Meet our demands by the deadline. (end transmission)

Berlusconi : (to engineer) Andiamo! Its a plan B! Usa the transporters ta replace alla da liquids aboarda their ship with the vino Americano.

That's what I was going to say, but I didn't want to pick on Butts McCracken again today while he is still recovering his mojo.

in the mean time I did some research. Of all the still living actors there is only one who could pull it of:

Danny Trejo

just think about it for a minute or two. Think about the possibilities.

Of hitherto unseen levels of awesome and violence.

And not much talking.

That would make Star Trek actually interesting.

That would also make Star Trek watchable.

He'd do a great job, but he's too old. A Captain ought to be around his late fourties, maybe early fifties. Trejo is nearly seventy.

Then again, this is the future we're talking about, and people are living longer all the time, so who's to say that by then somebody 70 years old won't be perfectly healthy and right at the peak of their leadership skill, judgment, and wisdom?

He probably wouldn't look like a piece of walnut driftwood, though, like Trejo.

Paul Reubens with Jim Varney as First Officer. Except he's apparently dead now. A shame, because anyone who can play the part of Hey You, the Hindu has to have range.
