people were eating arsenic and using lead acetate 'with no problems' too.

Maybe that stuff is really really bad - but since it mostly affects brits the negative effects are drowned in the problems caused by their 'beer', fish&chips, curry or deep frying everything?

In Austria, there lived the so-called "arsenic eaters of Styria", who ingested doses far beyond the lethal dose of arsenic trioxide without any apparent harm. Arsenic is thought to enable strenuous work at high altitudes, e.g. in the Alps.[17][18][19][20]

Bitches will do anything for looks.
Quote:
“But the Styrian peasant-girl, stirred by an unconsciously growing attachment - confiding scarcely to herself her feelings, and taking counsel of her inherited wisdom only - really adds, by the use of hidri [arsenic], to the natural graces of her filling and rounding form, paints with brighter hues her blushing cheeks and tempting lips, and imparts a new and winning lustre to her sparkling eye. Every one sees and admires the reality of her growing beauty: the young men sound her praises, and become suppliants for her favour. She triumphs over the affections of all, and compels the chosen one to her feet.

Thus even cruel arsenic, so often the minister of crime and the parent of sorrow, bears a blessed jewel in its forehead, and, as a love-awakener, becomes at times the harbinger of happiness, the soother of ardent longings, the bestower of contentment and peace!”

a bailout nobody would have ever needed if the UK would not be up the Banks ass.

But don't worry. The next banking crisis will kill your country for good, while those who actually produce something will ride it out - and come out better and more powerful.

Like always.

Calling all collectivist, statists...

Where the hell is your limit on this nonsense? You keep supporting this insanity, much to my discomfort, but why?

WTF makes you think this is the wise choice? You keep voting for morons to control you instead of voting for liberty. WHY???

REALLY, WHY? Why do you trust people with power whom you know know not to be trustworthy/

I'M GETTING TOO OLD FOR THIS SHIT, and you are all voting for this garbage. Either quit voting, or vote for liberty.

Please!!!

I've never claimed to be an expert on America. But, it's really incomparable. Energyman has never been here. He's never tasted real ale (poor soul). I grew up in Canada (more similar to america than germany is to the UK), been to the US countless times, and lived there for two years.

So, a little respect for reality please.

now you're just making shit up. The Euro crisis is entirely all its own. You aren't going to fix the problem by finding scapegoats.

He is trolling,
The UK banking issue vastly affected the UK only, the US banking/housing issue vastly affected the US, European banks also bought into the re-packaging & re-selling of toxic debt. The "Banking crisis" was just the specific trigger for something that was going to happen anyway... the PIGS nations were over-stretching themselves on cheap loans with next to no tax management or repayment plan... They were struggling with repayment with record high liquidity in the international money market.

The events of Egypt and other arab spring events would have caused an increase in global interest rates due to oil concerns, kicking off, be it lighter, PIGS dept issues BUT issues none the less :)
