|
|
I'm trying to upgrade evolution 1.4.4 to 1.4.5. It fails on upgrading pilot-link 0.11.8 with this error
Code: | Error: failed /opt/blackdown-jdk-1.4.1/jre/lib/i386/client/libjvm.so, because libstdc++.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory |
1 - I searched on the forum and found some similar problems.
2 - I upgraded to blackdown 1.4.1 (see post https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=84802&highlight=blackdown and https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=76147&highlight=blackdown) but it didn't helped.
Code: |
emerge blackdown-jdk
java-config --list-available-vms
java-config --set-system-vm=blackdown-jdk-1.4.1
|
3 - I found the ldconfig solution (see post https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=97266&highlight=libstdc+5 ) but it didn't helped.
5 - I tried to create a symlink libstdc++.so.5 but it didn't helped. The error is now on a missing libgcc_s.so.1.
6 - I also tried to upgrade to lib-compat-1.2 (see post) but it didn't helped. I had to downgrade again to lib-compat-1.1 because of the error '/usr/lib/libstdc++-libc6.1-1.so.2 is not a symbolic link'
FYI I discovered that emerging blackdown create a conf file /etc/env.d/java/20blackdown-jdk-1.4.1 with
ADDLDPATH="${JAVA_HOME}/jre/lib/${PFORM}/:${JAVA_HOME}/jre/lib/${PFORM}/native_threads/:${JAVA_HOME}/jre/lib/${PFORM}/classic/"
But there is no folder 'classic' in '/opt/blackdown-jdk-1.4.1/jre/lib/i386/'
I couldn't find information about this and find if this is part of the problem cause.
As evolution is NOT working anymore on my PC : "Cannot access Ximian Evolution Shell" error, any help would be MORE than welcome.
UPDATE :
i have a PII - gentoo 1.2 with lotsa upgrade.
gcc 2.95.3 20010315
CFLAGS="-march=i686 -O3 -pipe"
CHOST="i686-pc-linux-gnu"
USE="cups pda serial usb visor mozsvg gphoto2"

Hi,
yeah, same sort of prob here., I've just posted a msg .
Seems like the prob is the compiler not looking in the right place if HOST is i686. The other elements of similar stories seem very varied but this looks like the common element.
Maybe some help from a dev here?
Thanks. |

I'm getting the same error message from the stage1 bootstrap script. It happens while trying to install gettext-0.11.5-r1.
Anybody have a solution?
btw, I wasn't able to complete the 'emerge -u portage' step before running the bootstrap command...
I searched my system for libstdc++ and I didn't find it... So is a dependency on this ebuild missing?
I did find / | grep libstdc++ and all it came up with were patch files in /usr/portage/.... |

I also checked to see about installing blackdown-jdk-1.4.1, but one of the dependencies of blackdown-jdk-1.4.1 is gettext, so that'll fail...
I can't execute java, which is why gettext fails... the error message is:
Error: failed /opt/blackdown-jdk-1.4.1/jre/lib/i386/client/libjvm.so, because libstdc++.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory |

Ok.. I gave it another try from the beginning.. So I basically unmounted everything and did a mkreiserfs /dev/sda3
Then I followed the install instructions again, and with doing an emerge-webrsync instead of a "emerge -u portage", just like I did the first time.
And I got past this problem....
The only difference is that the first time I had java in my USE variables, but I changed it to -java.. This time around, I had -java in my USE variables the whole time.
So does portage cache your USE variables in some way? |

I solved the same problem by emerging sys-libs/libstdc++-v3 (I have gcc-3.4) |
