On this page, https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Genkernel, in the section entitled "Options acting on the resulting system" there is a link from 'framebuffer splash': http://fbsplash.berlios.de/wiki/doku.php. However, the link appears to be broken. I would like to see the information, but I am not sure where to look for it.

You should be able to find what you're looking for at http://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Fbsplash.

Please file a bug at bugs.gentoo.org when you find documentation bugs. :)

P.S.: Both the links in your post were broken in one way or another. It's best to place [url] tags around URLs. Fixed these for you.

Thank you much for providing the helpful information. :)

So exactly what does one do to make the link functional? Would I need to change a setting in the profile to see it, because they appeared fine to me when I looked at them? Does filing a bug require setting up yet another account, and what protections are made for the email address? Thanks.

I don't know if bugs with the documentation at the wiki should be filed in bugzilla. I usually just edit them directly. At least if the page is editable by a normal user.
