|
|
Hi,
I have a Asus UX51vz which comes with a external subwoofer with its own 2.5mm jack. There are plenty of guides on how to set this up with alsa/pulse, but I cant seem to get this right.
I have followed the inscructions here: http://esausilva.com/2013/05/24/asus-n56vj-subwoofer-in-linux/ (they are identical at nearly every site about this problem, and everyone but me seems to get it to work).
I have:
*Pulseaudio compiled with the alsa use-flag
*Pulseaudio at startup
*Created /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf and added the nescessary line
*Edited /etc/pulse/daemon.conf to enable lfe-remixing.
*Updated /usr/share/pulseaudio/alsa-mixer/profile-sets/extra-hdmi.conf and added the profile for 2.1
However, I can still not select "analog surround 2.1" as a profile inside of Pavucontrol or mate-sound-settings. I can only choose between analog-output or analog-output-duplex.
Seems like my /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf is being ignored. Is there anything else I need to do? Install alsa-core? add alsasound at startup? Do I even need both alsasound and pulseaudio at boot?
Can someone please lead me out of this fog?

I should mention that my snd-hda-intel module is built into the kernel. Can I still set options through /etc/modprobe.d? |

SOLVED!
Fixed it by setting "snd-hda-intel.model=asus-mode4" to my kernel-line in the bootloader. |
