EDIT3: .bashrc needed to be removed for some reason (had to do it when console was turned off). Lol, so many hours of work to find out it was just one 600B file.

After last upgrade that I did a day ago, rawtherapee stopped to start. It gave the error message:
Code:

michal@localhost ~ $ rawtherapee
terminate called after throwing an instance of 'std::logic_error'
  what():  basic_string::_S_construct null not valid

I suspected compiler error - so I recompiled last two versions, recompiled whole dependancy tree (some hours) - no change. Then I tried to run it as other user - it started without problems.

After I removed RawTherapee4.0.11 from .config directory, it now gives a bit different error message:
Code:

michal@localhost ~ $ rawtherapee
Error: user's profiles' directory "/home/michal/.config/RawTherapee4.0.11/profiles" creation failed
terminate called after throwing an instance of 'std::logic_error'
  what():  basic_string::_S_construct null not valid

It is strange, because it has recreated that directory:

Code:

michal@localhost ~/.config/RawTherapee4.0.11 $ ls -al
total 20
drwxr-xr-x  3 michal michal 4096 Nov  2 14:28 .
drwxr-xr-x 26 michal michal 4096 Nov  2 14:28 ..
-rw-r--r--  1 michal michal 4727 Nov  2 14:28 options
drwxr-xr-x  2 michal michal 4096 Nov  2 14:28 profiles

Any ideas ?

EDIT: I have some problems with my hdd in last few days (ext4, scan detected some errors that were repaired), so in order to check if RawTherapee isn't trying to create files in damaged hdd block I deleted it's config directory, copied some MB into that drive and I ran RT again. Still the same problems.

EDIT2:

I tried 2 things:
- I moved 3 dirs from my home dir (.config, .cache, .kde4) - no change
- I removed everything from my home dir (after backing it up !) - RT started. So problem is somewhere in my home dir - but I still don't know where.
