I'm having an issue with boost lib slots when trying to install libreoffice-bin
Most times I'm able to see a solution, but this one has me stumped. Is it possible to resolve t?

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

/etc/portage/package.mask
#Temporary Mask
<dev-libs/boost-1.52.0-r6
Code: | emerge -C libreoffice-bin dev-libs/boost && emerge dev-libs/boost libreoffice-bin && revdep-rebuild |
Then empty your mask file. _________________ The Birth and Growth of Science is the Death and Atrophy of Art -- Unknown

zBrain,
the problem is your installed libxsd-frontend-1.18.0 needed boost-1.49 see zBrain wrote: | Code: | ~dev-libs/boost-1.49.0 required by (dev-cpp/libxsd-frontend-1.18.0::gentoo, installed) |
|
and
=libreoffice-bin-4.1.2.3 needed boost-1.52
You can try with =libreoffice-bin-4.0.4.2 (it needed boost-1.49)
or
with =libxsd-frontend-1.18.0-r1 and =libreoffice-bin-4.1.2.3
(not recommended, see Bug 481764 )
/edit:
Or build app-office/libreoffice (non -bin) itself. |

I did get this fixed using a temporary mask.
Should these sorts of conflicts happen when running stable though? I try to keep my unmask and keywords files to a minimum, this actually forced me to keyword 2 packages.
Was boost perhaps released prematurely, or other packages lagging behind? |
