Hallo,
ich hatte vor geraumer Zeit mit Nvidia proprietär einen animierten Bildschirm während des Booten (Bootsplash). Dann bin ich auf interne intel Grafik umgestiegen.
Jetzt habe ich wieder eine Nvidia GraKa. Allerdings bekomme ich es nicht mehr hin.
http://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Fbsplash Das habe ich habe alles eingerichtet, bis auf media-libs/libjpeg. Die gibt es nicht mehr in Portage.

Ob splash aktuell noch geht, weiß ich nicht, aber vor "splash=verbose" sollte wohl kein Komma.

also ich hatte bis vor kurzen (1 Woche) noch splashutils im Einsatz:

Damit kriegt man relativ simpel ein paar schöne Bootsplashes hin.. allerdings kompilieren die neuen Versionen nicht mehr bei mir. (GCC cannot create binarys).
Lustigerweise NUR bei splashutils.

Lässt sich auch in eine initramfs integrieren. Leider habe ich (hier ein Dank an grub2) keine video= Anweisung mehr, weil das neue grub ja nurnoch eine Anweisung für ALLE Einträge zulässt! Wer hat sich das ausgedacht?!

Hoffe ich konnte zumindest etwas helfen.

Ich glaube, Du bringst da was durcheinander, aber genau verstehe ich die Details auch nicht: Das grub legacy hatte m.W. die video=... in der Kernel Kommndo-Zeile teilweise selbst interpretiert; grub2 kann das nicht mehr, wenn Du das "linux"-Kommando benutzt, weil es den Prozessor in irgendeinem anderen Modus startet, bei dem kein BIOS-Aufruf mehr vorher möglich ist. Es liegt also nur noch am Kernel, die Kommando-Zeile zu interpretieren, aber möglicherweise kann das auch der Kernel in dem Modus vom "linux"-Kommando nicht. Daher warnt grub2 beim linux-Kommando, wenn die Kommandozeile ein video= enthält.
Wenn Du das Verhalten von Legacy Grub willst, musst Du statt dessen das "linux16"-Kommando benutzen; dann wird irgendwie ohne vorheriges Umschalten des Prozessor-Modus gebootet.
Aber wie gesagt, die Details sind mir selbst nicht ganz klar.

Funktioniert. Aber mehr schlecht als recht. Unter kde gibt es ab und an Probleme, das sich der Bildschirm "auflöst". Wie auch immer, ich lasse es sein.
